How to set up a tab

1. Scan the receipt, then check the items

The scanner is usually right, but always scroll through the item list afterward and compare it against the receipt โ€” names, quantities, and per-item prices.

Known quirk: for a line like "4 Miller Lite  $24.00", the scanner sometimes keeps $24.00 as the price for each of the 4, instead of $6.00 each. Always check that price ร— qty roughly matches the line on the receipt.

2. Splitting a shared item with the รท toggle

Use this for something multiple people are sharing rather than each buying their own โ€” like a plate of appetizers. Say 3 people are splitting a $24 order of nachos: add it as one item, set the quantity to 3 (the number of people sharing, not units ordered), click the ร— button to flip it to รท, and enter 24 as the price. It becomes "= $8.00 each," and any of those 3 people can claim a share.

The same toggle also fixes the scanner quirk above โ€” flip it on, treat the quantity as the number of units, and enter the line's total price.

3. Quick math in any price field

Tapping into any item or fee price field brings up a built-in calculator keypad with + โˆ’ ร— รท included โ€” type 24/4 and tap Done, and it resolves to 6.00. Handy for fixing a scanner mistake without doing the division yourself.

4. Double-check the total

If you entered a receipt total during scanning, a warning appears if your item/fee totals don't match it โ€” that's usually a sign something above still needs fixing.
